  1. After the Great Chicago fire in 1871 that left the entire city in ruins a new building code was established that all new construction be made out of brick. After many years of research I have learned that the fire brick and glazed terra-cotta used to rebuild the city came from Woodbridge and Perth Amboy companies. The glazed terracotta buildings that still stand today are of remarkable beauty.
