Post Cards - A Hobby!

Perth Amboy is the subject of hundreds if not thousands of Post Card scenes. Back in the 1800's and well into the 1900's folks would belong to "Post Card" clubs, they would send their Post Cards to other members throughout the world hoping to receive one back from them. Also it was a quick and cheap way to communicate even to close cities like Woodbridge, Fords and Mauer.
No phones back then. Some of the most popular scenes were, City Hall, Churches, Waterfront Scenes and Smith Street. In the future, I'm sure you will see many of our collection including Trains, Trolleys, Ferry, Bridges and even Family Members in which lots of the old photos were post cards up to World War II.
